Lullaby my baby.....

Since he was born, he never sleep apart from me. Yup for a good 1 year 11 days, my boy has been sleeping under my armpit at night hehe. Yesterday, we decide its time. Time to let him sleep on his own bed at night. Time for him to miss his Mama eerr armpit. We have to train him soon else it will be too late. We thought cant possibly wait till he is an adult or reach puberty to shoo him away…

So how was a night without my baby boy by my side? Terrible! I could not sleep soundly. Since both me and hubby is so used to having our baby in between us and we have “trained” ourselves to sleep “nicely”( means no kicking, punching or rotating 360c by morning) for past year, yesterday was no difference. Both of us sleep gently and straight. In the morning I woke up feeling terrible and missing my baby.

So I’ve decide. My baby will sleep with me until he reaches puberty….lol

Baby food

Came across this site http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/ from one of the baby blogs that I hop to. Thanks to her for sharing to all concern mothers like myself. I’ve tried feeding Rahmat food in the bottle: Heinz and the effect is – Skin allergy!

I blame myself when he had the skin allergy. I’m a working mother and have little time to prepare nutritional meal for him which is why I try to take the easy way of feeding Heinz or Gerber. Bad Mummy!! Now I’ve learn my lesson. Only natural food, no preservative or instant food just because I want convenient!

I read through the recipes found on the site and find its interesting and delicious to try. They even recommend and explained the different cooking method which is very informative.

Steaming - This is one of the most preferred methods of cooking. By this method, nutrient loss in minimal. Left over water could be used as stock and for pureeing.

Boiling and stewing - The disadvantage; it leads to loss of nutrients (esp. water soluble vitamins (B&C) and minerals). Loss can be limited by using the needed amount of water for cooking/for required time. Left over water could be used as stock and for pureeing.

Baking - Baking is cooking by dry heat in the oven. The advantage - large quantities of food can be cooked. Limited loss of nutrients and the food is easily digestible.

Flash-back

Starting to feel cramps and pointed object poking me from below hehe. Ya that’s the feeling I first felt same time/date last year…I freeze and panic each time I feel the pain. Is it now? Are you coming out now? Those are my first reaction. Then the pain goes away. Phew! Few hours later it happens again. Gosh! Must consult my personal advisor (proven record advisor ok – mother of 3!), none other than my stupid gong Sis.

I call her and ask how the pain will be like. This was our conversation;

Me: Oi. I get cramps and sharp pain poking me at that place ar…dah time eh?
Sis: how is the pain? Very painful or just sudden few sec pain?
Me: hhmm…pain is pain la dol…rubbish!
Sis: Kong ajar! Aku Tanya betul la! Whats the frequency of the attack?
Me: hhmm…I had one this morning then few hours later.
Sis: Aiyah not yet la…if the pain is too frequent like every few minutes or hours than call your gynae.
Me: ooohhh…eehh…hhmm so false alarm ar nie? Siol ar…very poking pain seh …hehe

So I took her advice and time how frequent and how long the pain is. I decided not to walk so much now. I should have bed-rest hehe. I look at my progression card my EDD is 4th June. Its only 15th May now. Budak ni tak sabar2 nak tengok dunia ker? Hhmm. False Alarm la. Must be. I rub my tummy and gently tell him; “please be patient ok. You will get to see the world soon. Dun worry. But for now…diam2 kat dalam. Dun give me surprises or pain attack again sayang”.

No more pain for the rest of the afternoon…..i thought. Then at night, the poking pain starts again. Papayaface ask me to consult our gynae but I feel paiseh la to call at night. “I’ll call him tomorrow first thing in morning ok” I assure papayaface. The pain continues throughout the night. I did not have a good night sleep.

Next morning, 16th May, I woke up and the poking pain happens again. I freeze and pose with my arm stretch out, I look as though I was playing Pepsi Cola 1 2 3. Without delay Papayaface insist I call my gynae to make an appointment to check if our baby is ok.

So off we go to a familiar place in Kembangan Plaza. Waited for our turn, went in and explain everything to our kind gentle gynae. He put on his gloves and advice Papayface that he will be “feeling” me to check. Papayaface gave his consent ..lol ok ok cut story short. Our gynae inform my “whatever thing you call it” has open up by 2cm. The baby estimated to pop-up soon. Gulp! He informs we can have an alternative to allow the baby pop earlier by inducing. Pop out faster? Hhmm? First time hearing it. So he explain to us both - new soon to be parents.

I opt for it as I can’t sit and wait for the sharp pain to happen now and then due to my working environment and schedule. My sis was hesitant when I told her about it. She believes to let things natural but I don’t think I can sit and wait. So Doc lets go for it!

To be continued…..

BIG or SMALL?

My son is turning ONE this 17th May! Hooray! How time flies ya….i can still remember same month last year…he was still in my small tummy...getting hyper active….keep moving around. I knew then that I have to be prepared that he will as active as he was in my tummy. True enough! My boy just couldn’t keep still..hehe

So anyway....I cant decide whether to proceed with my plan to have a BIG birthday party or just a small party with immediate family members…hhmmm how ar? Im left with 12 more days to decide…how? how? how?
