Kiasu-ism

Since I my upgrade my status to be a PARENT, I’ve infect contagious virus or rather a syndrome. I can’t and have no control of it. No medicine can cure and it’s transmittable cos it seem I have infect hubby hahaha.

At times I feel its pathetic but at the same time it’s a logical thing to do. Parent “race” to help their child achieve more, unknowingly infect the disease. Sad but unavoidable.

Last Sunday, my boy turns 16months! Super fast rite? Force myself to wake up early on a Sunday & brought him for Tumbletots trial lesson @Tampines Sports Hall. I’ve always thought my child is extrovert & eager to try out new stunts. I was wrong! At Tumbletots, he clings onto me & shy to try out the equipment. He seem more interested to run around the class, trying to make friends (sitting and talking in his own planet language) with other kids rather than trying the equipments which supposedly help the child to develop motor skill & overcome obstacles/challenges. Maybe it’s a new environment with unfamiliar faces. During sing-along activities, he just look-on and not participate. I had to "push" him a little to try out and participate. Ended-up I’m the kid having fun & tired instead of him!! Anyway still undecided if I should sign him up. I know its new to him, he needs time to adapt but I felt the activities lack the “Umph” factor; the feeling that it’s the right one for your child without thinking twice. I hope I did not offend any Parents of tumbletots child or Tumbletots itself. This is my own personal evaluation after attending the trial lesson. Anyway other parents who are interested to try-out for their kids who may enjoy it better than my boy, you can find out more. Trial lesson are chargeable at $23.

Now I’m finding time to go for another trial lesson on Kindermusik approach. I want to find a play & learn activities that he will enjoy just within the short 45 minutes trial lesson.

Sigh. Who say its easy being a parent, even to a 16month old Boy?

i feel the same too, tht I'm not around too much to educate Nunu. Having spent most of her days at the nanny's which is not my idea of a great early education, makes me feel guilty & keep her awake till 12 just to play with her until we both 'surrender' :)

eh, my niece on the other hand, became more open to people after going religiously to TTots tau! She used to be clingy/cranky/cerewet but now, she's more likely to open up more strangers. :)
